This school assignment consisted of creating your own project. Me and Sarah Engdahl decided to team up and produce a promotional animation for Yeu Bake Shop, a café located in Stockholm.
Our advertisment aims to provide a visual experience of Yeu Bake Shop. It is an animation that highlights the ‘slow living’ element, which represents the atmosphere of Yeu Bake Shop. ‘Slow living’ is a lifestyle that encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life, which means performing tasks at a leisurely pace. Visually, ‘slow living’ reminded us of Studio Ghibli’s storytelling and art style.
The target audience for our marketing would therefore be teenagers up to young adults who long for a relaxing environment with tasty East Asian desserts. We also believe it would capture the interest of anime and Ghibli enthusiasts because the aesthetic in the cafe's pastries and drinks romanticize everyday life.
Our full animation is intended to appear at the start page of Yeu Bake Shops website. We also made short versions of the animation to be shown as ads on Instagram or Youtube.
